Mark Hominick vs. Leonard Garcia On Tap for WEC 51 in September
Fresh off of “Fight of the Night” wins, featherweights Mark Hominick and Leonard Garcia have agreed to square off in a likely slugfest at WEC 51 on September 30 in Broomfield, Colorado, according to MMAWeekly.com.
Hominick (18-8) scored a second-round TKO of Yves Jabouin at June’s WEC 49 for his third-straight victory, while Garcia (14-5-1) rebounded from an 0-1-1 stretch with a split decision over “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in a “Fight of the Year” contender at WEC 48 in April.
WEC 51 is expected to be headlined by featherweight champ Jose Aldo vs. Manny Gamburyan, with the WEC 51 fight card also rumored to include Chan Sung Jung vs. George Roop.
