Paul Taylor vs. Sam Stout in the works for UFC 121 in October

Paul TaylorA lightweight bout between Paul Taylor and Sam Stout is in the works for “UFC 121: Lesnar vs. Velasquez” on October 23 in Anaheim, California, according to MMAjunkie.

After losing to John Hathaway in November for his fourth loss in six fights at welterweight, Taylor (10-5-1) was slated to make his 155-pound debut against John Gunderson at April’s UFC 112, but was forced out of the bout after suffering complications from the weight cut.

Following back-to-back losses, Stout (15-6-1) has earned three-straight “Fight of the Night” awards, scoring wins over Matt Wiman and Joe Lauzon before dropping a split decision to Jeremy Stephens at May’s UFC 114.

The UFC 121 fight card is expected to be headlined by heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez.
