Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki, Shane Roller Added to WEC 50 on August 18
UFC News – MMA And UFC News From Syndicated Sources
Former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber will drop down to 135-pounds to take on bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki on August 18 at WEC 50, according to MMA Weekly, while lightweight contender Shane Roller is also expected to return to action at the Versus-televised event in Las Vegas.
After holding the 145-pound title for nearly two years from 2007 to 2008, Faber (23-4) has dropped 3 of his last 5 fights, most-recently being dominated by featherweight champ Jose Aldo in a unanimous decision loss at World Extreme Cagefighting’s pay-per-view in April.
Mizugaki (13-4-2) came up short in an exciting “Fight of the Night” with bantamweight champ Miguel Torres in his WEC debut in April 2009, but has since won 2 of 3, including a unanimous decision over Rani Yahya at April’s WEC 48.
Roller (8-2) suffered a first-round TKO to Ben Henderson in April 2009, but has rebounded with three-straight wins over Marcus Hicks, Danny Castillo, and Anthony Njokuani.
