Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Stephan Bonnar Rematch Possible For TUF 11 Finale
Following a controversial result in their first meeting at last month’s UFC 110, light heavyweights Stephan Bonnar and Krzysztof Soszynski expressed interest in a rematch, which is now being negotiating for the finale of season 11 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which is expected to take place on June 19 in Las Vegas, according to MMAMania.
At UFC 110, the two squared off in what was shaping up to be an entertaining battle. However, in the third round the Bonnar and Soszynski clashed heads during a punching exchange, cutting Bonnar open, and forcing Soszynski to check to see if he too was cut. The bout was allowed to continue for a short time before being called off due to the cut on Bonnar’s head, and was then declared a TKO victory for Soszynski after the referee failed to acknowledge that the headbutt caused the cut, a decision that Bonnar is appealing.
Prior to their last meeting, Bonnar had lost two straight to Jon Jones and Mark Coleman, while Soszynski had just had a six fight winning streak snapped by Brandon Vera.
